Testimonial

Special thanks to Dr Adesuwa and the entire team. Our consultation with you was a really interesting and my son felt relaxed even though he was quite scared before we came. He sees clearly and better now too and can read from afar off. Things he struggled to do before we came to the hospital. Thank you Dr.

Cataract Surgery

Blurred vision can be caused by eye conditions, including: difficulty focusing your eyesight, such as with near-sightedness or far-sightedness in kids. astigmatism (when the surface of the eye isn’t curved properly).

Cataract surgery, also called lens replacement surgery, is the removal of the natural lens of the eye that has developed an opacification, which is referred to as a cataract, and its replacement with an intraocular lens

pterygium surgery

Pterygium surgery is a procedure performed to remove noncancerous conjunctiva growths (pterygia) from the eye.

The conjunctiva is the clear tissue covering the white part of the eye and the inside of the eyelids. Some cases of a pterygium produce little to no symptoms. Severe overgrowth of conjunctiva tissue can cover the cornea and interfere with your vision.

Chalazion Surgery

A chalazion that does not go away on its own may need to be surgically removed. Chalazion surgery is performed by an ophthalmologist or oculoplastic surgeon, a doctor who specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgeries involving the eyelids and certain other parts of the face.

The surgery may be performed in adults or children. Local anesthesia or general anesthesia may be used, though the latter is more common for young children.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Pediatrics is the branch of medicine dealing with the health and medical care of infants, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 18. The word “paediatrics” means “healer of children”; they are derived from two Greek words: (pais = child) and (iatros = doctor or healer). Paediatrics is a relatively new medical specialty, developing only in the mid-19th century. Abraham Jacobi (1830–1919) is known as the father of paediatrics.
  • A paediatrician is a child’s physician who provides not only medical care for children who are acutely or chronically ill but also preventive health services for healthy children. A paediatrician manages physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the children under their care at every stage of development, in both sickness and health.
  • Paediatrics is different from adult medicine in more ways than one. The smaller body of an infant or neonate or a child is substantially different physiologically from that of an adult. So treating children is not like treating a miniature adult.

Congenital defects, genetic variance, and developmental issues are of greater concern to pediatricians than physicians treating adults. In addition, there are several legal issues in paediatrics. Children are minors and, in most jurisdictions, cannot make decisions for themselves. The issues of guardianship, privacy, legal responsibility and informed consent should be considered in every pediatric procedure.
